On August 4th, 2011 Petrolimex Chemical Limited Company, member of Petrolimex Petrochemical Joint Stock Company (PLC) commissioned and started the operation of Nha Be Chemical Depot in Zone A of Nha Be General Depot , Phu Xuan town of Nha Be District, Ho Chi Minh City. Nha Be Chemical Depot was built on 3rd January 2010 on a premise of about 9,000sqm in a total surface of 20,000sqm of Nha Be Chemical Depot. Total capital for this project was 80 billion dongs covering 13 storage tanks of a capacity of 15,000cubic meters with modern and synchronized equipment. All chemical pumps were directly imported from Italia. All incoming and outgoing pipelines in which 4 out of 13 outgoing and accessories were made of stainless steel. Storage tanks were protected by specialized epoxy paint and the inner coating was zinc anti-corrosive. The depot had floating roof against evaporation, automatic alarm devices for spill and fire. Nha Be Chemical Depot is able to contain, store and deliver 10 kinds of different chemicals and solvents such as xylene, toluene, methanol, solvent for rubber, paint solvent, N-Butyl-Acetate, Ethyl-Acetate, Acetone, MEK, PPG…for production plants and investment projects in the South and Central regions. This is one of the biggest receiving, storaging and delivery depots for solvents and chemicals in Vietnam so far.

Although faced with a lot of difficulties in land clearing; installation near oil projects, time constrain for construction, high tide, heavy rains and complex weather , with effort by Petrolimex Joint Stock Installation Company No. I as the main constructor, under the professional and serious surveillance of Petrolimex Chemical Company Limited as the investor and the maximum assistance and help from Nha Be Oil Depot and Petroleum Company Region 2, all items of the project were completed with high quality. They were inspected, tested and had trial running… to assure complete safety in operation, in fire prevention and environment safety before putting in operation. It is planned that Petrolimex Chemical Company Limited would have the first shipment to Nha Be Chemical Depot in the first half of August 2011. At the time being, the enterprise undertakes skill training for workers of the Nha Be depot in accordance with strict procedures of efficient and safe operation.
