October 25, 2011 – The Intelligence Institute of the Ministry of Science and Technology granted the Exclusive Invent Diploma No. VN1-0009777 for the Anti-Electro Static TD-PTX used for oil transportation means of Vietnam National Petroleum Corporation (Petrolimex).

The Exclusive Invent Diploma given to TD-PTX testified to the special attention of the leadership of the Corporation to the study for invention and improvement of technology, the application of advanced technology in the oil sector in general and the safety technological equipment in particular in a widespread movement . At the same time, it ushered in a new phase of all-sided, quality and efficient development in the field of scientific research of the Corporation.

The Exclusive Invent Diploma TD-PTX was the contribution of effort by the group of authors Vuong Tien Dung, Do Huu Tao, Do Giang and the Vietnam National Petroleum Corporation in the research, creation and production of new, advanced, efficient and appropriate product in the actual condition of the Corporation. TD-PTX is the exclusive product of the Corporation in the coming 20 years.

The work of ensuring safety for the means of transport and technological equipment at oil projects is one of the prime tasks, along with that of business development. This responsibility has been upheld throughout the course of 55 years of safe and efficient production of the Corporation. It is more significant at the time of transition and establishment of Petrolimex Group in the coming December 1st, 2011. The introduction of invent TD-PTX in Petrolimex projects would intensify the safety and fire prevention work in their business and production.

In recent years, the Corporation focused on investment in upgrading and modernizing storage depots, terminals and pipelines, investment in and application of automation systems, thus raising safety index in their operation, work safety, against fire and explosion and for environment protection. However in most recent time, there were some regrettable incidents of explosion and fire, affecting the prestige of Petrolimex brand name at home and abroad.

Analysis of causes of explosion and fire showed that they were mainly related to the electricity static during delivery which operators and other anti electro static apparatuses could not control. Study on the existing earthing devices used inside the country now showed that they were not synchronized, and very hazardous such as the use of different types and make of earthing rods, different sizes, materials and stuffs, different techniques and levels of production, hence the use of anti electrostatic earthing was just for form’s sake, unable to control electrostatic formed during delivery from transport means.

Proceeding from the above fact, the Department of Safety Technology and Environment of the Corporation made a research and submit to the Corporation a scientific research on design and make of anti electrostatic device TD-PTX in order to overcome the shortcomings of existing devices. Anti electro static device TD-PTX was made, assembled and experimented successfully at Duc Giang Oil depot in line of Petroleum Company Region1 together with the Petrolimex Hanoi Joint Stock Trading, Oil Transport and Services Company. The Scientific and Technological Application Committee of The Police Fire Department of the Ministry of Public Security, The Committee for Testing Anti Electrostatic Device TD-PTX of the Corporation , The Committee for Invent and Innovation of the Corporation , the Institute for Machinery and Industrial Tools –IMI Holding evaluated that the anti electrostatic deviceTD-PTX satisfactorily meets requirement of anti electrostatic for transport means at delivery points and retail shops; conforming to international and Vietnamese requirement in anti electrostatic. Thanks to that, The Police Fire Department of The Ministry of Public Security issued the license and suggested the Corporation put TD-PTX into operation in oil projects.

Anti electrostatic device TD-PTD is fully made and assembled inside the country with high quality materials and stuffs, suitable for oil ambiance and heavy use. With TD-PTD in use for the whole Corporation, Petrolimex could economize about 80 billion dongs in comparison with that imported from abroad.

In the happy atmosphere of welcoming the coming into being of Petrolimex Group, the Exclusive Invent Diploma of the Corporation would further boost the tradition of creative labour of Petrolimex staff.
