Petrolimex-funded social welfare works inaugurated in Ha Giang Province

The December 2, 2015, witnessed the inauguration, handover and installation of school signs of the Lung Thau Commune Kindergarten and Ta Lung Commune Primary School in Dong Van District, Ha Giang Province. The two projects constructed under the auspices of the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) on the 60th anniversary of the Group’s establishment (January 12, 1956-January 12, 2016) aim to share and demonstrate the Group’s corporate social responsibility towards areas that still experience poor infrastructure system and underdeveloped economy in line with the Government’s Resolution 30a.

Participants into the events include the Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of Ha Giang People’s Committee, Nguyen Van Son; Petrolimex Board of Management member, Chairman of Petrolimex Trade Union cum Chairman of the Petrolimex Social Fund Management Council, Dinh Thai Huong; Vice Secretary of Dong Van District’s Party Committee and Chairman of Dong Van District’s People’s Committee, Hoang Van Thinh; officials from Lung Thau Commune, Ta Lung Commune, local Party Committees and administrations, local departments/sectors, the whole teaching staff, parents and representatives of pupils from the Lung Thau Commune Kindergarten and Ta Lung Commune Primary School.

The Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of Ha Giang People’s Committee, Nguyen Van Son expressed his sincere thanks to Petrolimex for the Group’s attention to the social security in Ha Giang Province in general and in Dong Van District in particular. He also instructed relevant Party Committees and administrations in the two communes and the schools to use the projects effectively and adequately, and frequently maintain the projects to enable them to operate to the full in a long period of time. He also expressed the hope that Dong Van District would continue receiving assistance from Petrolimex.

The Lung Thau Commune Kindergarten which cost a total investment capital of VND10.3 billion (US$460,000) consists of eight classrooms, one basement for kitchen and canteen, residential area for teachers and other support works.

The VND6.5 billion (US$290,000) Ta Lung Commune Primary School consists of three-story buildings with nine classrooms and other support works.

Addressing the ceremony, Petrolimex Board of Management member, Chairman of Petrolimex Trade Union cum Chairman of Petrolimex Social Fund Management Council, Dinh Thai Huong said: “Over the past time, Petrolimex carried out a plenty of cooperation activities with localities across the country, including Ha Giang Province, with a desire to contribute some efforts to the local social-economic development.”

Well aware that education is the core basis ensuring long-term sustainable development, Huong is convinced that Petrolimex contributions in the past time and the time to come would surely help local students have a spacious and modern study environment, contributing to enhanced quality of cultivating future generations.

Also on this occasion, Petrolimex Joint Stock Insurance Company (Pjico) presents appliances including TVs, food containers, and water filters to the Dong Van Border Guards, Lung Cu Border Guards, and schools in Dong Van District, worth around VND150 million (US$6,700).
