On 28th September 2007, Mr. Bui Ngoc Bao was assigned as the Director General of Vietnam National Petroleum Corporation. Before, he was concurrently a member of Board of Managements and a Deputy General Director. On behalf of Ministry of Industry & Trade, Mr. Nguyen Cam Tu – the Deputy Minister has announced the decision. The former Director General – Mr. Tran Van Duc had retired.
Can Tho constructing bridge broke in the morning of 26th September 2007. The collapse caused serious material damage & death toll.

On The occasion of Vietnam National Petroleum Corporation 50Th anniversary of establishment, the “P” brand name and some trade marks of Petrolimex such as: RACER lubricant, Petrolimex Insurance (PJICO) are selected in the list of 500 well-known brands in Vietnam.
“A proposal of monthly gasoline price adjustment has been under careful consideration by Ministry of Trade and Ministry of Finance before submitting to the Prime Minister for approval” said Mr Hoang Tho Xuan, Director of Domestic Market Policy Department (Ministry of Trade).

November 22nd 2005 was the first time Vietnamese government has acted on cutting back gasoline retail price for 500VND per liter. Although this reduction was not much, it created consumer’s confidence in governmental gasoline price control.
